Designing for Senior Communities

Project Objectives

Students were given a senior living community to research, analyze and diagram they way they think the communities functions, then asked to diagram or list improvement to communities to promote the principals of such as walkability, accessibility, community spaces.

Reflection

Students found many of the senior living communities to be needing improvement to support healthy and social lifestyles. Many did not provide any outdoor space, and if there was some it was not accessible to residents. Adding sidewalks, outdoor patios with seating, improving general landscape were some of the suggestions students had.
